About Us

Douz youth is a grouping within the Douzelage organization of all youth delegates from the Douzelage towns. The members range from students to youth council members or young people wishing to make a difference in their hometown.

The main mission and goal of Douzelage as of 1991 is to promote and foster the spirit of Europe and to establish among others educational, economic, tourist, sporting, and cultural links between the towns for the mutual benefit of the inhabitants thereof.

The DouzYouth committee further aims to build a stronger connection with young people of Douzelage whose network will empower them to be more active as citizens through creating European or national funded projects with and for young people from the Douzelage community; Sharing educational, work, and fun opportunities and projects with one another; building cross-cultural relations and keeping in touch through online groups and visits.

Douzelage

Douzelage is a multi-town twinning organization consisting of 28 towns belonging to each
EU member state and the UK. It was founded in 1991 with just 12 towns and has grown ever
since. The aim of Douzelage is to create opportunity and friendship across Europe through
economic, tourist, sporting, educational and cultural exchanges. There is one main event each
year where delegates from all the Douzelage towns meet, divided up into three workshops:
general meeting, education meeting, and youth meeting. Other smaller events and sponsored
projects take place throughout the year.
